The Negative Space of Photo

“ The Negative Space of Photos” is inspired by an old photo album of Kangyue’s father. Her father's handwriting on the back of the photo suggests the unseen image and the neglected space of the photo. Her photographic editing presents the absence of her father through her life, leaving only the background as the main object, and also suggests the innovations of photographic technology - film becomes a symbol of our past youth, containing memories and emotions waiting to be awakened by the photograph.
