Noon Break

In the project "Noon Break", Zhang collected noises from the living environment which contrasted with the tranquillity emitted by the images. The noise drew her attention to her grandfather, who had been diabetic for many years and suffered from insomnia. Therefore, she chooses the distinction between sound and image as a point of sharpness, seeking a transition in the audio-visual language that creates a discrepancy between perception and reality.
